What to do if your child tests positive during the Christmas holidays
It has been an extremely challenging year for us all. I would thank the staff, children, parents and governors for their ongoing support as we all look forward to enjoying the Christmas holiday.
As we near the end of the Autumn Term, I wanted to clarify what you should do if your child tests positive for COVID-19 during the Christmas holiday.
There is a quick turnaround for booking a test and getting the result so please don’t hesitate to book one if you or your child has any of the COVID-19 symptoms. Test centres will be open throughout the Christmas and new year period.
Parents and carers should continue to inform the school of confirmed cases if symptoms develop within 48 hours of last being in school. You should do this by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
If your child was not symptomatic but tested positive within 48 hours of last being in school you should also contact the school by email email@example.com
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since last being in school (Friday 18th December) you do not need to contact us. Instead you will need to follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
This email address will be regularly monitored at midday for those six days up to and including Christmas Eve.
At the start of term in January you will need to inform your school If your child is positive, self-isolating or symptomatic and contact the school on Monday 4 January and make sure your child self-isolates for the required number of days.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
