Notice of Election of Parent Governor

Notice of Election of Parent Governor

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Holy Trinity C.E. School

The Instrument of Government provides that there shall be elected parent governors on the governing body.

I am now writing to tell you that there are vacancies for 2 parent governors and to invite parents, foster parents or guardians who would like to be appointed to put their names forward.

If there are more parents or guardians offering to serve than vacancies available, there will be an election by secret ballot.

If you wish to stand for election as a parent governor, it is necessary for you to be proposed by a parent of a pupil registered at the school and to be seconded by another parent of a pupil registered at the school.  The proposer and seconder should indicate their support for your candidature by signing nomination form (PG/2) which is attached.  All nominations should be returned to me via the school office within 14 days of the date of this letter (i.e. 4th December).

It should be noted that anyone who is an undischarged bankrupt or has been convicted of certain criminal offences is disqualified from being a school governor.  Other disqualifications include anyone who is liable to be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983(a).

Yours sincerely,

Claire Ingleton,

Clerk to Governors.
