The Y3 topic this term has been the Egyptians and over the past few weeks the children have been busy learning lots of information and facts about how the ancient Egyptians used to live over 4000 years ago. As part of the topic I would like to run an Egyptian themed day, which will take place on Thursday 29th November. For this the children will take part in Egyptian activities all day and I would also like the children to come to school dressed up in Egyptian themed costumes.
Below are some suggestions of what the children could come dressed as:
• A mummy (no tissue paper please) – bandages or ripped up sheets are fine.
• Cleopatra
• Pharaoh
• Howard Carter (archaeologist)
There are lots of ideas for Egyptian costumes online, but please don’t feel the need to pay money for costumes, homemade ones will be fine and are just needed to help the children enter into the spirit of the day and also to have some fun!
For one of the activities we will need some jars (coffee, jam etc), so if you have any spare at home, I would appreciate it if you could bring them in to me.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to come in and see me.
Thanks for your support with this.
Mr Trendell

The Friends will be hosting a Disco on Friday 30th November 2018. This event will cost £3.00 per child.

The times will be:
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2: 3.45 to 5.00
Years 3 to 6: 5.15 to 6.45

We need to have a full record of the children on the premises, in case of emergencies.

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be taken to the disco by their class teacher. If your child wants to wear disco clothes, please send these in a clearly labelled bag for them to change into after school. Permission slips and the £3 should be returned to your child’s class teacher in an envelope before or on the day of the disco. The children need to be collected at the front of the school and will be released from the front of their classroom.

Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 3 to 6) should come in at 5.15 through the door at the top of the corridor marked ‘Pupil Entrance’. They must bring their permission slip and £3 with them, otherwise they will not be allowed in. Children should be collected from the school hall at 6.45.

The children will be given a hot dog and a drink. There will be a vegetarian option –please indicate on the slip below if this is your child’s preference.
